Task 47:The Importance and function of digipaks to the music industry

A digipak is the optical disk packaging used by musicians for albums, which can consist of the tracklist, disk, record label logos and a paper booklet with information about the music and artist in some cases. There are several important factors to why the Music Industry use digipaks:

The use of a digipak allows the public to see the self-image of the artist and provide them with a visual insight and clue of what they can expect to be involved in the album. Also the imagery on the album may be used for synergy throughout the music video, interlinking the two together.
Moreover, the digipak is also important due to the fact that it is a form of marketing as the more appealing the digipak is, the more likely the product is going to sell in stores generating profit for the artist and its label.
