Post 47: Importance of Digipaks

Digipaks are one of the way a music artist can advertise not only themselves and their music but also their image as an artist, depending on their genre. We discussed the importance of keeping the colour scheme and the synergy seen in the music video or other songs from the artists album. By keeping the colour scheme consistent, allows the fans to identify with the artist. There was many different digipaks we looked at, many had 2 panels in the digipak but there was also some that were special edition digipaks that had more than 2 panels and additional items included in the pack; like photographs and an extra backstage video from the artist tour or backstage of a music video. This was evident in Rihanna's album 'Loud'. Here the colour scheme is evidently kept throughout the digipak and the main front cover is of the artist which allows the fans to identify with the artist.
